I'm pretty sure we all knew that an adaptation of Guillermo del Toro was going to happen, I just thought it would movie before it went TV, but I guess I was wrong because Grady Twins Productions are team up with Del Toro, and novelist Chuck Hogan, to bring The Strain to life on the small screen.

The Strain book trilogy is a bioterror thriller with fangs, telling the story of an outbreak in the U.S. of a virus that either kills those who are exposed to it or turns them into vampires. The first of the series came out in June. The plan is to shop the TV project, envisioned as an event series unfolding over three seasons, early next year after the second book is released.

If you didn't already know the idea for The Strain started as a TV pitch, but for some reason fox wanted to turn it into a comedy. So Del Toro pretty much said, screw that, and teamed up with Hogan to write a great vampire novel.

Grady Twins Prods. was started by Marti Noxon and Dawn Parouse, who worked on TV shows such as Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Prison Break. In case you were wondering, the name of their production company is a nod to the twin girls in The Shining, who were hacked up by their father in the Overlook Hotel.

It seems like they have a lot of passion going into this project, and I am hoping it will turn out being a great TV series.

Here are a few awesome little shorts that were done based on scenes from the book.
