Spider-Man 4 is currently prepping up to start shooting, and is still in the pre-production, script writing process. How do we know this? Because a new screenwriter by the name of Gary Ross has been brought into the production to rewrite the script.

Gary Ross has actually written two other films that Tobey Maguire has stared in, Pleasentville, and Seabisciut. Ross will make a great addition to the creative team, and should end up developing a solid script. If you have seen either of those films, then you know the guy is a really good screenwriter.

Ross is developing quite the relationship with Sony Pictures, he is also doing a rewrite for the Lance Armstrong film they are developing, and also worked with the studio on a film called Tokyo Suckerpunch.

This will be the second rewrite for the Spider-Man 4 script. The first one was originally written by James Venderbilt, then it was rewritten by David Lindsay-Abaire, and now it is in the hands of Gary Ross, who should be the guy to bring it all together.

Sam Raimi and Tobey MaGuire will both be back to bring the magic.
