Tobey Maguire Set to Star in THE DETAILS

Tobey Maguire has been set to star in a new indie film dark comedy, called The Details which will be written and directed by Jacob Estes who's made a few other indie films including Mean Creek, which is the only film that I have seen of his, and it was pretty good.

Variety describes The Details as a dark comedy about a struggling married couple who, already struggling with issues like infidelity and whether they should stay married, see their lives further complicated by ravenous raccoons burrowing under the sod in their back yard. A disagreement over how to dispatch the pests creates a chain reaction of mishaps that include a murder by bow and arrow. Elizabeth Banks will play his with in the film,

This sounds like an interesting little film. I am interested to see how it all plays out.

The director describes Maguire's character as an everyman in the sense that he is composed of a morally ambiguous core. He has good intentions, but he makes a lot of self-destructive mistakes.

Maguire joins a great cast of actors which include Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert, Anna Friel and Laura Linney.

Maguire will shoot this film before he heads on over to reprise his role as Peter Parker in Spider-Man 4.
