Hugh Jackman gives WOLVERINE Sequel Update

Hugh Jackman has played in Wolverine in all three X-Men films, and this year's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. As we've reported before, he has no plans to put down the claws anytime soon. Prior to Wolverine's release, he had stated that he had been in talks with writers to bring Logan to Japan for a live-action adaptation of Frank Miller and Chris Claremont's fan-favorite story arc that had the hero learning Eastern philosophy and fighting skills. And after Wolverine found box-office success, the studio made it official.

This weekend at the Teen Choice Awards, Jackman gave MTV a little update on where they are in the process.

Japan is where we're heading, [and] we're starting to work on it now. We're in the ... first steps of developing that story.

...I think the fans love that saga. It's my favorite saga of the Wolverine stories.

...That's a movie I've longed to make from the beginning, so that's where we're heading.

That's all we're getting for now, I guess. I can't wait for a new Wolverine movie. The last one left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope they can stay more true to the source material this time around. For the full interview, check out the video below.
