Still haven't had enough of Harry Potter? Well it looks like we may get some special extended editions for the films coming our way. The people over at Rope of Silicon noticed that America's MPAA ratings board has certified a new cut of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which is a longer, extended edition. They contacted Warner Bros. to ask what this meant, and...

Although we've not announced [it yet], all Harry Potter films are being planned to get special upcoming releases!

I have no idea what these extended editions will entail. They usually stick the deleted scenes in the special features of the DVD's they have released. So will they just throw those into the actual film? Are there scenes we have never seen? I seriously doubt they will re-shoot anything, so don't expect to see any of the subplots from the books making their way into these extended versions.  We'll get a few little things here and there with extra dialogue and stuff, but this is mostly a way for Warner Bros. to repackage and resell their Harry Potter Films so they can make some more cash off of them.

I'm just waiting for the series to be completed so I can go out and buy the full series in a Blu ray box set.
