Sam Worthington Replaces Tom Cruise in THE TOURIST
Sam Worthington has been cast as the lead role in the remake of a french thriller called The Tourist. He replaces Tom Cruise who left the project, and I think Worthington is a good trade off, don't you? This guy is blowing up in Hollywood really quick, one big blockbuster after another.
Charlize Theron has been attached to star in the film since the beginning, and now with a lead man set, it looks like they are getting ready to roll. The original film that that this is based on is from a 2005 French spy thriller called Anthony Zimmer, and was written and directed by Jerome Salle. In the original film a female Interpol agent chooses an everyman American tourist visiting France and dangles him as bait in the hunt for a wanted criminal, who's also her former lover.
The original film looks really good, I have embedded the trailer for it below so you can watch it, to give you an idea of what to expect from this Americanized version. Why do we gotta Americanize everything?
