Disney president John Lasseter announced today at a London-based Disney Animation Showcase that Timothy Dalton will be playing a role in Pxar's Toy Story 3. If you don't know who Timothy Dalton is shame on you, he is a former 007, and also had a great role as the villain in Hot Fuzz. Dalton will voice Mr. Pricklepants, a hedgehog toy with thespian tendencies. It isn't revealed how this character fits into the story, but he will be the first British actor to join in on the Toy Story fun.

During the presentation the audience was shown a little film clip from Toy Story 3, and a new trailer that hasn't been released yet. Here is a description of the footage from Empire:

The clip showed Andy packing from college, and emptying all his toys into a black bin bag for storage in the attic. He hesitates over Woody and Buzz, finally putting Woody in the box of things to take for college. But all the toys are panicked - especially Woody, who's worried for his friends. When Andy is distracted by his little sister and leaves the garbage bag on the landing instead of upstairs in the attic, his mother takes it out to the kerb - and a frantic Woody has to save his friends from a rapidly approaching bin lorry.

Here is the description of the trailer.

showed bits of the same scene, but developed the story. Clearly the toys end up being sent to a daycare centre, where they are horribly abused by the little kids - and after that it's time for a break-out attempt to find a safe haven, and hopefully a new owner, in a cruel world. It looks every bit as good as its titanic predecessors.

This movie sounds like it going to be fantastic. I'm sure it is going to be at least just as good as the first two films. This is the third and final film that will close the Toy Story franchise forever. It's kinda sad that it is coming to an end, especially since we all grew up watching these films, but I couldn't be more happy and excited to see the film. What are your thoughts?
