Michael Bay gives TRANSFORMERS 3 & BAD BOYS 3 Updates
Here's a small bit of news you can chew on.
If you thought you were dreaming(or having a nightmare) when we reported that director Michael Bay has third installments planned for both his Transformers and Bad Boys franchises... Here's some proof that these films are actually being made.
Bay relayed updates on these projects through his minions Official Site:
I spoke to Michael today and he had a little update on his future projects:
* He will be meeting later this week with Steven Spielberg, and Ehren Kruger to discuss ideas for Transformers 3. By the end of the week he should have an idea if Transformers 3 will hit your local cineplex in the summer of 2011 or 2012.
* In the meantime "Pain & Gain" is looking very possible as is...
* ...Bad Boys 3. Either film coming to a theater near you before or after Transformers 3.
Bay will be meeting with writer Ehren Kruger to discuss ideas for Transformers 3. Kruger penned Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen with Star Trek scribes Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. Kruger also wrote the screenplays for The Brothers Grimm and both of The Ring films.
Orci and Kurtzman wrote the first Transformers film, which with it's problems, was still a digestible and fun film. The second one, was all over the place. There was somehow way too many things happening... all without a story! I have no idea how they managed to do that, but they did. I don't know if it was due to Kruger's involvement, but this is the guy Bay is going to for the first run. Who knows who'll be brought in afterwards.
Still no confirmation on what will come first, "coming to a theater near you before or after Transformers 3," but Bad Boys 3 and real life drama Pain & Gain are definitely a go. I guess whatever has a more solid script first will determine what he will take on next.
