SILENT HILL 2 Shooting Next Year!
I've got some great news for all you Silent Hill horror movie geeks! The sequel is going to start shooting next year. I've heard they were going to do a sequel, but there has been no solid confirmation until now. The first Silent Hill movie was a near perfect adaptation of the game. The story, characters, and dark evil feeling were all present. It's one of my favorite video game adapted films. I am really excited that we are going to get to see a sequel.
The original, based on the Konami game, centered on a woman who travels to a desolate town to seek help for her ailing daughter only to find supernatural occurrences taking place there.
The first films screenwriter and producer, Roger Avary and Samuel Hadida of Davis Films have signed on for a sequel to their 2006 video game adaptation. I'm relieved to hear that the creative people behind the first film will be back for the second one. I'm sure they will make it just as creepy and insane as the first film they made, maybe they'll even take it to the next level of madness.
Davis Films aims to shoot the movie next year after Resident Evil 4, which it's currently prepping.
Avary, best known for his work on Quentin Tarantino scripts such as "Pulp Fiction," also is penning video game adaptation Return to Castle Wolfenstein for Davis Films.
