BioShock 2-2

Bioshock 2 is set to be released February 9th, 2010.

I had a blast playing the first Bioshock and like most video game sequels, this should be better than they first. Why they haven't really been able to do that with movie sequels yet baffles me. There are some exceptions but I'm not going to get into it right now.

Bioshock 2 takes place ten year's after the first game, and feature the same insane looking, underwater city of Rapture. In the single-player campaign, players step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, and search for a nere-do-well who is capturing little girls from the surface of the earth and bringing them deep under the sea.

The cool new feature added to this sequel is that there will be a multiplayer option! Gamers will assume the role of a Plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions. The multiplayer takes place during the fall of Rapture, so it'll be interesting to check out the design contrasts between single and multi-player.

There is currently a movie going to production based on the Bioshock game at Universal Pictures. Gore Verbinski was attached to direct but due to a shooting location change he dropped out. Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is the new director of the movie. He directed the zombie film 28 Weeks Later, which was a pretty good film. But, I'm not sure if he's got the skills to take on a movie this big without screwing it up. I was excited with Verbinski on board, but now I don't know what to expect. I would have loved to Neil Blomkamp direct it, but that wont happen.
