We told you last month that Warner Bros Home Video was going to develop new Ultimate Extended Editions of the Harry Potter film's. These extended additions will not be re-released in theaters but you will be able to buy them on DVD and Blu-Ray. We now have some more information to share with you regarding these extended releases and what exactly they will feature.

It seems like they packed them with a ton of really cool, never before seen, behind the scenes footage of the cast and crew. As for what is new in the film, Year One only has 7 additional minutes of extra footage and year two only has 13 minutes. When shooting these films they didn't go out and shoot a lot of additional footage like Peter Jackson did with Lord of the Rings, but they threw in whatever they had. I will definitely be getting a set. I knew they were going to do this from the beginning so I never went out and bought any of the Harry Potter films, so this is it for me.

Here is a little trailer that shows you what they have in store for all the Potter fans out there.

The Ultimate Editions of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets will hit stores on December 8th 2009. The DVD editions will be 4 discs, and the Blu-ray editions will be 3 discs.
