Bryan Singer has sure got a lot going on these days. He is going to take on the Cylons directing the new Battlestar Galactica reboot, he is going to wield a giant sword at his crew while directing Excalibur, and now he is going to show Jack how to kill a giant while directing Jack The Giant Killer.

Singer recently signed on to direct the film for New Line and Legendary Pictures.

The story of Jack the Giat Killer was written by Mark Bomback (Live Free Die Hard). The story is about a princess that is kidnapped, threatening a long-standing peace between men and giants. A young farmer is given an opportunity to lead a dangerous expedition to the giants' kingdom in hopes of rescuing her.

The movie is based on a classic tale of the same name which shares similarities to what we know as Jack and the Beanstalk. There are many different versions of the story and this is the fifth time the story will be told on film. The project is being put on the fast track so it looks like he will be directing this film before he get to the other two previous films he has signed up to direct. He is going to be a very busy guy the next few years with three pretty big movies he is developing. It will be interesting to see how Singer takes on a fantasy film like this, it's different from anything he has done so far. It's a different world.

So what are your thoughts on Singer's new project?
