There have been a handful of Stephen King stories that have gone to the small screen, some of them have been better than others. Now the King novella, The Colorado Kid, is going to be developed into an hourlong series for the independant studio E1 Entertainment.

The series will be called Haven and the project centers on a spooky town in Maine where cursed folk live normal lives in exile. When those curses start returning, FBI agent Audrey Parker is brought in to keep those supernatural forces at bay -- while trying to unravel the mysteries of Haven.

This sounds like it could be a great TV series. I would like to see another good Stephen King TV series to succeed. There is a good chance that it will, especially with the team that is developing the project. It's the same people who developed King's The Dead Zone into a strong series for the USA Network. Scott Shepherd will serve as showrunner and exec produce withLloyd Segan and Shawn Piller. Shepherd, Segan and Piller were all exec producers on The Dead Zone, which ran for six seasons and went off the air last year.

The series has even got a couple of writers who worked on The Dead Zone as well. Sam Ernst and Jim Dunn will write the pilot for Haven. Everyone on board is committed to producing 13 episodes and production is gearing up to start within the next six months after financing is secured and casting is locked down.

I was a big fan of The Dead Zone, the show was done incredibly well, and now that all the production team is teaming up again for another King series, I couldn't be more excited to see how this turns out.
