Right after Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 was beat out in the box-office by the The Final Destination 3D, it was announced that Halloween 3D was going to be put on the fast track for a Summer 2010 release. Dimension Films and The Weinstein Co. got the first finished draft of the script in last Friday. Everything looked like it was good to go, then according to deadline,

Bob Weinstein shut down H3D pre-production "because Bob just felt it was rushing too fast.

There is speculation the The Weinstien Co. is out of money, they recently laid off a bunch of people. The director they have for Halloween 3D, Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine 3D) is starting another film in January. They were hoping to Get H3D done before he started that new film. Now Dimension is going to wait until Lussier is free again. This will give the studio time to decide if they are going to continue with H3D. I could care less what they do with it. I love the original Halloween flicks but these remakes just aren't doing it for me.

It looks like Zombie's Halloween 2 will get a limited re-release on Halloween night for Midnight showings. You know what would be more awesome, that would probably make more money? Re-releasing the original Halloween movie on Halloween night! Now that, I would go to.
