Back in 2003 an amazing French animated film was released called The Triplets of Belleville. The film was done in the old school traditional style of animation and it was directed by Sylvain Chomet and Jacque Tati. If you have not seen it yet then you have to watch it, it really is a great story and a true work of art. Don't believe me? The creative peeps at Pixar thought the same thing.

Now we have our first look at their new film called The Illusionist. The film is based upon an unproduced script of Tati’s and according to the official synopsis this is the “story of a dying breed of stage entertainer whose thunder is being stolen by emerging rock stars. Forced to accept increasingly obscure assignments in fringe theaters, garden parties and bars, he meets a young fan who changes his life forever”.

Hope you enjoy the pics!
