SHERLOCK HOLMES 2 Starts Shooting in June, TRANSFORMERS 3 Shooting in May

When we reported on Robert Downey Jr. leaving the Aliens & Cowboys production, I knew the reason was that he had to schedule the time to start shooting the Sherlock Holmes Sequel, and today Entertainment Weekly confirms that Sherlock Holmes 2 will start shooting this coming June.

The Sherlock Holmes sequel has not been greenlit by the studio yet, but it is still being put on the production fast track based on the success of the first film. This fast track to production created a scheduling conflict for Downey Jr. and he had to go with the the studio whom he had a prior multiple film contract with.

Warner Bros. commissioned a script by Kieran and Michele Mulroney back in September and is now locking down the cast for a June start date, exactly the time when Cowboys & Aliens is set to begin principal photography.

Then there is a short little blip over at Deadline Hollywood in an article about him switching agents that says he will start work on Transformers 3 in May. There really isn't much more to say about that so we'll leave it as a short little blip here as well.

Are you excited for a Sherlock Holmes 2 and Transformers 3?
