Which one of These Two Girly Men will play CONAN?
It looks like the Nu Image/Millennium and Lionsgate reboot of of Conan is getting very close to finding the man who will play the character created by Robert E. Howard and made famous by Arnold Schwrzenegger.
Director Marcus Nispel is prepping up to shoot the film which is scheduled to start March 15th in Bulgaria. At this point it all comes down to casting. Who will play Conan? Deadline Hollywood reports that as of last weekend there were two actors in the running for the role.
Kellan Lutz who most recently starred as Emmett Cullen in the first Twilight film, New Moon and Eclipse.
Then there is Jason Momoa who is best known as playing Ronan Dex in the TV series Stargate: Atlantis.
Personally I think they both suck as choices! Neither of these guys have the look or physicality to play Conan. They are both girly men. I'm sorry but these guys are not Conan! Conan can wield a huge ass sword, break people in half, have the ability to crush anything in his path, and he's got an intense mean look. These guys just don't have what it takes. If this is the direction they are going, then this movie is going to suck. These guys don't even mach up with the body they placed on the teaser poster above for cryin out loud!
They are looking at one other person that isn't named but apparently he is a more established actor than the two listed above. After they meet with this actor they will make their decision.
From what it looks like they definitely aren't looking for someone that has any acting skills. They are going off of young male model looks. But then none of these actors comes close to the incredible physical build that Arnold had. Good grief... what are they thinking?! I'm not looking forward to this movie at all now.
