Annie Leibovitz Photo Shoot with the cast of WALL STREET 2: Money Never Sleeps

Back in September some photos surfaced from the set of Oliver Stone's Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. Now we have some legit non-paparazzi photos of the cast from an Annie Leibovitz photo spread for Vanity Fair, and some quotes from the filmmaker and star.

It's been more than 20 years since Michael Douglas took home the Academy-Award for making greed look so good, with his performance as Gordon Gekko in the 1987 original, Wall Street. With the market still in recovery from its recent free fall,  Stone has returned to film a sequel, only this time around, fresh from a 20-year prison sentence Gekko is... a good guy?! Ok, so this plot point has been known for awhile, and has received a lot of backlash from fans.

Stone explains:

When Gekko comes out of prison, in the beginning of this movie, he essentially has to redefine himself. He’s looking for that second chance.

The world has changed in the last 20 years, but can Gordon Gekko? The film may have some twists and turns. Douglas plays it coy, explaining:

Gekko couldn’t manipulate the markets like he did back then. It’s so big, so huge, that to be a minor player you need to be a major bank.

For some reason I'm trying to remember the rules to Monopoly, which isn't what he's talking about at all. Either way, what is his character's true game?

The plot pivots around Shia LaBeouf as Jacob “Jake” Moore, a hungry young hedge-funder who is dating Gekko’s estranged daughter, Winnie, played by Carey Mulligan (An Education, Brothers). Jake believes that his boss, Bretton James (Josh Brolin), has somehow had a hand in the death of Jake’s mentor (Frank Langella). Gekko agrees to aid the fresh-faced Jake in his plans for revenge.

So they didn't exactly give us anything to sink our teeth into information wise, but we'll know everything soon enough when Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps hits theaters April 23rd. For now, enjoy the photos.
