AVATAR 22-Minute Behind-The-Scenes Look
Here's a 22-minute behind-the-scenes look at the soon-to-be highest-grossing movie of all time. If I wanted to stick more hyphens in that last sentence I could. I'm sure when the DVD/Blu-Ray comes out for James Cameron's record-shattering epic Avatar, it's going to have a cavalcade of special features and information. This is probably just the tip of the bonus-feature iceberg.
If you were scavenging around for every featurette they have released for the film, some of the interview clips will look familiar -- especially in the first couple of minutes or so which talk about the script and why Cameron waited so long to make this film. But from then on it is mostly stuff we haven't seen.
- Creature and Pandora designs
- Casting and Screen Tests for Sam Worthington (Jake), Zoe Saldana (Neytiri) and more
- Actor's Language and Physical Training
- The ins and outs of Performance Capture,
The performance capture is the stuff I was really looking forward to them pulling the curtain away from. They include a slew of side by side scene comparisons, including one of the pivotal scenes with Zoe Saldana. Her performance is right there on screen and her performance should be recognized. So hopefully the side by side comparisons will help show that even though you don't actually see her human skin, behind the millions of dollars of technology, it's her performance.
They also delve into the breakthroughs they had in 3D technology. What's really amazing is that with their Fusion camera, when they would film on set with green screen and CG characters, all of those environments and characters were there on screen! So these actors knew exactly what everything around them was gonna look like in full detail, and where it was gonna be in conjunction to them.
There's a whole lot more information and in here and footage as well. So stop reading this and just watch the video!
This is FREE of SPOILERS for all two of you out there that haven't seen this film.
