HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS and CLASH OF THE TITANS will be in 3D

At this point with all of the 3D madness going on right now is it any surprise to you that Clash of the Titans and the last two Harry Potter films will be in 3D?

Avatar has really done a number on Hollywood. Only problem is, is that most of these films are not actually being shot in 3D, they're being converted, and that means it's not going to look as good or amazing as Avatar did. There's a reason why Avatar looked amazing, it's because it was actually shot in 3D using top notch technology. THR reports:

Early 3D-conversion tests on Warners' remake of "Clash of the Titans" have gone so well that—combined with boosted enthusiasm for 3D in the wake of the "Avatar" tsunami—the Burbank studio has decided to release not only "Titans" but also the two-part "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" in 3D.

When I hear that a movie is being converted from 2D to 3D I don't really have the excitement or desire to pay that extra money to see it. If Hollywood is going to start making 3D movies, then it should be done right from the very start. I guess it really doesn't matter to the general movie going audience though, I'd be surprised if most of them can even tell the difference.

There is a lot of money to be made in the 3D movie world, which is why it has become the new Hollywood fad. I imagine that very soon, reporting on a film being shot or converted into 3D won't even be news anymore, it will just be the way it is.

Warners will push back the release of Clash of the Titans one week to April 2. Deathly Hallows: Part I is set to be released on Nov. 19, and Part II is slotted for July 15, 2011.
