Jon Favreau’s COWBOYS AND ALIENS to Start Shooting in July in 3D?

As soon as Jon Favreau is done putting the finishing touches on Iron Man 2 he is moving on to DreamWorks to direct his next big comic book film Cowboys and Aliens. This movie has been in development for quite some time now and in case you’ve forgotten, Robert Downey Jr. is set to star the flick.

The film starts shooting in July and it looks like the success of Avatar has steered it into the direction of 3D filmmaking. Making the film Favreau’s first 3D movie.

The story follows an extraterrestrial species that lands in Arizona in the mid-1800s. The aliens plan to quash the Wild West and enslave humanity, but the cowboys and native Apache have other plans. They team up to take them out.

This should end up being a really fun and great film, I think the story would work very well for 3D if they do it right. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

What are your thoughts on the COWBOYS AND ALIENS film?
