Guillermo Del Toro Offered to Direct GODZILLA Film Project

As you know by now Legendary Pictures is developing a reboot of the classic monster Japanese film Godzilla. The production company was also looking at developing another monster film project called Pacific Rim, from Clash of the Titans writer Travis Beacham. Pacific Rim is set in a future in which malevolent creatures threaten the earth, the planet must band together and use highly advanced technology to eradicate the growing menace.

According to our friends at Latino Review the draft of the Godzilla script they got in wasn't really that good, so Legendary Pictures is looking at possibly combining the two films to create the new Godzilla reboot.

They site has also learned that Guillermo Del Toro has been offered the opportunity to direct the Pacific Rim project, which might end up being Godzilla

Now just because Del Toro was offered to direct the film doesn't mean he's going to take it. The guy is a crazy busy filmmaker who's trying to get At The Mountains of Madness off the ground right now. I don't know if he will be able to fit in Godzilla into his schedule. Honestly, I think he's got better things to do then make a Godzilla movie. I would much rather see him finally get started on his Frankenstein film!

What do you think about Del Toro possibly taking on Godzilla?
