ZOOLANDER 2 Movie Update - Script, Plot & Villains

Zoolander 2 screenwriter Justin Theroux has revealed to MTV that the script for the film is essentially done. He's been working on the script with Ben Stiller who will be reprising his role in the film along with Owen Wilson who played Hansel. He also reveals a little bit of the plot and the who the new villain will be.

The script is in good shape right now. I'm feeling very optimistic about it. We're doing a few little tweaks before we submit it, but I'm very hopeful that I'm going to be working on that soon.

They are hoping to get the sequel in theater in 2012. Theroux confirms that he's still on track to direct the movie and reveals that Derek Zoolander and Hansel find themselves pushing 40 and no longer the white-hot center of the fashion world.

It's too funny — it'll blow your mind. [W]e start off with them in a pretty bad place, they're about to ring 40's bell. They have to claw their way back into the fashion industry in some way or another.

As for the villains in the film, we can expect to see Will Ferrell reprise his role as Mugatu, and Jonah Hill will end up playing a whole new evil character. 

Fingers crossed, anything is possible in Hollywood, but I think you're going to see Mugatu. We are planning on seeing Mugatoo. There are a couple new villains that step onto the stage, which we are all very happy about. And yes, Jonah is the inspiration for one of them.

I hope it's as good as Theroux says it is. Will it blow our minds?
