Hey ATL peeps, are you looking for something to do this Tuesday? Well look no further because we have plans for you!

From the Press Release:

The Shelter in Atlanta Turns Up The Steam

Atlanta-Based The Extraordinary Contraptions and comedy-magic act, Thimble Rig Circus welcome English Band Bitter Ruin To Headline

Nearing the end of a multi-state tour, the English duet  Bitter Ruin comes to The Shelter  for a evening of steampunk,  indie-noir, and Moldavian circus magic. Local steampunk band and internet favorite, The Extraordinary Contraptions, will open for the Bitter Ruin.  Rounding out the evening will be performances by the trio Kiska, Molotov and Zoloft—The Thimblerig Circus.  The Shelter has many amazing show over the years, and this one is looking to be legendary.  The three acts will be appearing at the Shelter, 2101 B Tula St NW Atlanta, GA, next Tuesday October 19, 2011 at 9:00 PM.

Bitter Ruin has caught on in Europe where they have sold out shows with their explosive, theatrical acoustic performances.  Georgia contributes vicious, complex vocals and Ben provides brutal vocal attack and cutting, jagged acoustic guitar; together they produce a gritty, indie, acousti-pop sound.

The Extraordinary Contraptions set the steampunk cyber-world aflame this year with their magnificent parody “I’m On a Blimp,” produced by Dragon*Con TV.  More than a parody band, they are about to release their third album.  The quartet each assume characters and play as a lawman, a time traveler, a gentleman explorer and a mad genius. They combine superb musicianship with visuals from a time that never was. The extraordinary contraptions will also be performing on October 23 at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur as part of the AnachroCon Pubcrawl. .

Thimblerig Circus claims to be made up of the last thee surviving members of the famous Moldavian Thimblerig Circus. This claim may not be valid, but their skills sure are.  They astound crowds with juggling, fire-eating, and putting nails where nails shouldn’t go. When they are not astounding, they are hilarious.

Tickets for this show are going fast,  They are $10 at the door, but available online at a discounted price of $8.00. Tickets are available http://theextraordinarycontraptions.com/#/merch. The show is restricted to ages 21 and older.
