Toy Reveals Frost Giant Design for THOR Movie

MovieThorby Joey Paur

Thanks to a toy design, we know have a good idea of what a Frost Giant is going to look like in the Kenneth Branagh directed Thor film. This is just a design and like most toys what we see in the film will end up looking much different, and much more cool. Check out the toy design below and let us know what you think of it.

The figure is part of the film's 3.75" inch toy line, and here's a little information on the Frost Giant's:

Of all the races of Giants, the foremost enemies of the Asgardian gods are the Frost Giants, whose monarch is Utgard-Loki. The direct descendants of the first Giant, Ymir, the Frost Giants live in the area of Jotunheim whose climate resembles that of Earth's polar regions. Temperatures in this area never rise above the freezing point of water. The Frost Giants can exist comfortably at frigid temperatures but are highly vulnerable to heat. Although they can withstand the normal temperatures to be found in Asgard and in the temperate regions of Earth, intense heat causes them to shrink in size rapidly, as if melting. Long exposure to cold will eventually cause them to grow back to their previous size. The Frost Giants' powers are strongest in their own realm of Jotunheim, presumably due at least in part to the frigid climate of much of the realm.

The Official Plot Synopsis for Thor:

Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, Thor, which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
