J.J. Abram's SUPER 8 Gets a Release Date

Paramount Pictures has just set a release date for the J.J. Abrams directed, Steven Spielberg produced sci-fi film Super 8. The film will be released in theaters on June 10th 2011.

The film is about three siblings who discover footage of an alien in some Super 8 footage they shot. It will also will be a tribute to Spielberg’s 1970’s/1980’s Amblin films, like Close Encounters of a Third Kind and E.T. It's like combining these amazing films with the characters, mystery and supernatural spin of J.J. Abrams.

The film project stars Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee, Zach Mills, Gabriel Basso and AJ Michalka.

There are two other films scheduled to be released on June 10th as well. That are Universal's Fast Five, the fifth film in the Fast & Furious franchise, and Warner Bros.' romantic comedy Something Borrowed. Super 8 is sure to dominate that weekend.
