Stan Lee Joins Forces With MTV To Bring Us THE SEEKERS

Comic Book by

An unlikely duo has emerged, Stan Lee's POW Entertainment will be joining forces with MTV to bring The Seekers to the masses in the form of a digital comic.

According to Lee,

"It involves superheroes, it involves a very high-concept plot, it's a story such as you never have seen before, and it spans the centuries."

A digital comic is just the beginning. Lee went on to say,

"The Seekers" is "more than just a comic. It's actually the start of a tremendous franchise."

His goal is to turn the comic into a TV show and possibly a movie in the future. Before that happens the comic first must be written. It has only just been announced at the New York Comic Con today.

An interesting caveat to this story is that MTV will be holding a contest to find the comics illustrators. In addition, this is first time that the legendary 87 year old comic has worked in the digital medium.

The coolest bit is that The Seekers will be available for free on MTV's new Geek website that went live earlier this week and will offer content that includes comics, horror, sci-fi and gaming news. It is great to see Lee pushing the limits of comic books at such an old age. Partnering with MTV can only bring the comic book world to a great audience of people that may not have been involved in the past which in my opinion is a good thing.
