Great Vogue Photo Collection from SPIDER-MAN TURN OFF THE DARK

Photos by Joey Paur

Here's a collection of great photos for the upcoming comic book Broadway musical Spider-Man Turn off the Dark, which is set to premiere in January at Foxwoods Theatre and includes songs by U2's Bono and The Edge. The $60 million production was directed by Julie Taymor and has a cast of 41 people and 37 scene changes.

The photos come from the December issue of Vogue, and you can read the full article on the musical here. This looks like it could be a really fun production. The photos give us a detailed look at the costumes in the show. Check out the images and tell us what you think!

“I feel more invincible onstage than anywhere else,” says Reeve Carney, who performs the title role (dancer and gymnast Emmanuel Brown, pictured here, is a stunt double).

Mary Jane fends off the multibladed Swiss Miss (Sean Samuels). “There are a lot of comic-book nerds out there who are in love with Mary Jane,” says Damiano. “I don’t want to let them down.”

The ill-intentioned Carnage (Collin Baja) goes after Mary Jane. Says Taymor: “I saw the inherent theatricality in it, and I couldn’t resist.”
