Seth Rogen And Evan Goldberg Rewriting NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have been asked to rewrite Neighborhood Watch for 20th Century Fox. Pete Segal is attached to direct the comedy, which is being produced by Shawn Levy and his 21 Laps company.

Studio exec John Fox conceived the the story about a suburban "neighborhood watch" group, which is actually a front for dads to get some male bonding time away from the family. Things go awry when the group accidentally uncovers a plot bent on destroying the world.

The initial screenplay for this one time Will Ferrell vehicle was written by Jared Stern and had Levy and David Dobkin attached as directors.  Rogen and Goldberg, have written some pretty great films with Superbad, Pineapple Express and the upcoming Green Hornet amongst their writing credits.
Their films have progressively gotten more action oriented with it being reported that Green Hornet has taken action to the next level. I am willing to bet, if the script and the deal are good, that Rogen may end up starring in the film as well.

When I read the concept for this story I immediately started laughing.  I have become increasingly impressed with the quality of writing from Rogen and Goldberg, and with their films overall.  Whether they just rewrite the script or if Rogen ends up starring, this film has a lot of potential.
