Park Chan-wook to Direct Carey Mulligan in STOKER

Old Boy director Park Chan-wook is prepping to direct his very first English-language film featuring Carey Mulligan called Stoker. It's really exciting to see the South Korean film director moving up in the world of filmmaking by making the jump to English-language films. The guy is a fantastically talented filmmaker, and it's great that more people are going to be exposed to his work.

Stoker is described as a drama about a young woman whose eccentric uncle comes back into her life after the death of her father.

The script for the film was written by Wentworth Miller. This is the same Miller that starred in the TV series Prison Break, and most recently was in Resident Evil: Afterlife. We'll soon find out how good of a screenwriter the actor is. The script was solid enough to get Ridley and Tony Scott on board as producers. Fox Searchlight Pictures is also producing the film, and they have great taste in films.

Muligan is playing the main young woman character in the story, and Jodie Foster is costarring in the movie as well. The uncle character has yet to be cast, but it sounds like it's going to be another big name actor.

I love Park's dark and violent filmmaking style, and I can't help but get a little excited to see what he is planning for Stoker.
