Anne Hathaway To Play Lois Lane In SUPERMAN Reboot?

Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot has begun and so have the rumors! Yesterday we posted the rumor that Matthew Goode could play the lead. The rumor du jour is that Lois Lane may be played by none other than Anne Hathaway.

A site called What’s Playing has posted a story/rumor that Anne Hathaway is under consideration for the role of Lois Lane. She definitely fits the profile, she is in her 20's, brunette and drop dead gorgeous. There are a lot of other actresses that could also fill the role so as for now this remains a rumor.  

The interesting part of the story coming from What’s Playing is in reference to the plot. According to them, Clark Kent will be a young, idealistic journalist, travelling the world and trying to solve the problems and help the people he comes across without resorting to using his powers. The plot is said to centre around Clark getting caught up in a tribal war in West Africa:-

“When he is compelled to use his secret powers to intervene in a crisis in West Africa, Clark returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and the hero he was born to be”.

That is completely different from what I expected.  I for one do not think I like the idea of Kent being away from, Smallville, Metropolis and The Daily Planet.  Not only that, but a Superman who does not want to use his powers?  That seems to be defeating the purpose of being able to leap tall buildings in a single stride.  

This rumor has sparked lots of speculation is now that this film will serve as being an origin story featuring Clark Kent with no “major” villain.
