James Gunn's SUPER Gets An Official Release Date

Super from director James Gunn and starring Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page and Kevin Bacon will be released by IFC Films on  April 1, 2011.

Gunn is the director of Slither and wrote the screenplay for Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead. Super received a lot of buzz after it's debut during the Toronto International Film Festival this September.  IFC Films picked up distribution rights the day after the premiere.

Synopsis:

Wilson stars as a normal guy named Frank who decides to become a crimefighter when his wife (Liv Tyler) leaves him for a drug dealer (Bacon), taking on the identity of the Crimson Bolt  and agreeing to let a young overzealous comic shop employee (Page) to  be his sidekick Boltie. Together, they fight crime in the most violent manner imaginable.

This movie sounds like a lot of fun and full of dark humor and violence which is right up my alley.  I am a fan of Rainn Wilson so it is great to see him in a lead for a film like this.  Check out the Red Band Clip for the film here and let us know what you think!
