Tom Hanks Officially Cast in TRIPLE FRONTIER

Movie Tom HanksCasting by Joey Paur

Tom Hanks has officially joined the cast of director and writer Kathryn Bigelow's next film, Triple Frontier. The casting was confirmed by producer Charles Roven. He told comingsoon in a recent interview that "Tom Hanks is starring in the film, and we're still looking to cast the other roles. We're hoping to start shooting the movie sometime in mid-March."

This will be Bigelow's first film since she made the Academy Award winning film The Hurt Locker. The story for the film is set in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, which is a haven for organized crime, and centers on five men of various ages working in the zone.

There was news that the film would be retitled to Sleeping Dogs, but the producer referenced the film by it's original title Triple Frontier. So I guess the jury is still out on if the title has been changed or not.

As for Hanks being cast in the lead role, the guy is one of my favorite actors, and he's sure to do an incredible job in this new movie. I'm glad he ended up taking on the role.
