Sally Field In Early Talks To Join SPIDER MAN Reboot

Earlier it was reported that Martin Sheen was joining the cast of Spider-Man reboot, from director Marc Webb.  Now it is being reported that Sally Field may also join the cast as Peter Parker's matriarchal Aunt May.

It looks like the Webb may be going in a new direction with the character of Aunt May, unless he plans to use a lot of makeup fx.  Field doesn't seem old enough to play a character who has been portrayed in the comics as a frail, elderly woman, prone to illness.

The film begins shooting in December.  Along with Sheen and possibly Field, Spider-Man will star Andrew Garfield as Peter, Emma Stone as love interest Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as the movie’s unnamed villain.
