I just wanted to give you a quick little update to let you know that Lionsgate has officially offered Mike White the directing gig for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Earlier this week it was reported that he was at the top of the studios list of directors to develop the project, and now he's got it, so congratulations to White! All he has to do now is accept the offer. I don't know why he wouldn't.  This would be a great film project to work on.

White doesn't have much experience in the directors chair.  He directed the dark comedy The Year of the Dog, and also wrote films such as School of Rock, Orange County, Chuck & Buck. It was previously reported that, "White is seen as one of the few candidates who can handle the film's many tones."

I loved Seth Grahame-Smith's novel, and I'm looking forward to seeing the movie regardless of who they bring in to direct it. Apparently the studio thinks that White has got what it takes to bring this movie to life in the best possible way.

What are your thoughts on Mike White directing the movie?
