First Look at Seann William Scott and Jay Baruchel's Hockey Movie GOON

Seann William Scott and Jay Baruchel are currently shooting a new hockey movie called Goon, and thanks to MTV, we have are first look at the movie. This is a passion project that Baruchel has been wanting to do for a long time now. He co-wrote the film with Evan Goldberg (Superbad).

Michael Dowse is directing the film in which Scott plays Doug, a small town bouncer who, after physically defending his best friend (Baruchel) at a hockey game, is recruited to play the enforcer for a minor league team, despite initial misgivings.

In an interview with MTV Baruchel had this to say about the character Doug,

Doug isn't about winning. Doug is about doing what you need to do in a given time and finding what you are good at and finding what you're meant to do. In some ways it's a fairly... anti-sports movie because there's no -- well, I don't want to give too much away, but it doesn't have all the clichés that those movies usually have.

He went on to say,

We have 55 speaking roles and 17 different fight scenes. I think that we're going to entertain people and were going to hit them in the head with a two by four, but I think more than anything people will be surprised by how moved they are by the story. I really think we've created a pretty classic character, and Seann is doing something unlike he's ever done."

[This movie is for] guys that are sick of PG blood and just nonsense. We're trying to create something real... hopefully for people that dig awesome movies. Hockey fans and f---ing fight fans.

Sounds like it will be a hell of a good time at the movies! What do you all think?
