Steve Carell to Star in IMAGINE from the writer of CARS and BOLT
Steve Carell is set to play the son of a rock star in a new film called Imagine, which will be written and directed by screenwriter Dan Fogelman, who has written films such as Cars, Bolt, Fred Clause and the upcoming Disney CGI animated film Tangled. This will be Fogelman's first time directing a feature film.
The story is about a musician in his sixties who tries to live his life differently after reading an old letter written to him by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. The rocker tries to track down and reconnect with his biological son, whom he has never met. Carell will play the son.
It's always cool to see a screenwriter move into the director's chair, and this director is getting a pretty big pay for a first time director. He'll be making somewhere around $3 million dollars, but from what I've heard this is something he's earned. Ah, $3 million dollars would be nice.
Carell could also really use another solid role in a movie, especially since he's leaving The Office. This should end up being a pretty solid role for the actor. What do you all think?
