Surprisingly, one of the hottest titles this past weekend at AFM was Walking With Dinosaurs which garnered a big deal with 20th Century Fox.

The film is directed by Neil Nightengale and Pierre De Lespinois.  John Collee is currently writing the script.  Collee wrote the Peter Weir directed film, Master and Commander: The Far Side Of The World for Fox.   He also wrote Happy Feet and Creation.

Walking With  Dinosaurs, a combination of CG and live-action, is a family film with a budget of $65 million.  It is being co-produced by BBC Earth and Reliance Big Pictures, and is based on a franchise from BBC Worldwide.  A mixture of live-action footage of scenery and CGI creatures will be used in the production of the film.

Fox is currently acquiring distribution rights for the U.S. and a number of international markets, including the UK, France, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Italy and Latin America.  This sounds like an interesting project to me.  I am fascinated by dinosaurs so this is right up my alley.
