Week of Coolest Toys Ever: G.I. JOE Aircraft Carrier, The U.S.S. FLAGG
During the week of Christmas the GeekTyrant team is going to be sharing what we think are some of the coolest toys ever. So far we have the Star Wars Hoth Ice Planet, and the Star Wars Death Star World playset.
My first entry into GeekTyrant's week of coolest toys ever is the classic G.I. Joe Arcraft Carrier known as the U.S.S. Flagg. This incredible and huge military playset has a special place in my heart for the fact that I actually owned it at one point in my life! I got it for Christmas one year.
It was so big that it took up my whole freakin' bedroom! They toy was released in 1985 and it was the largest boy's playset, measuring in at just under 7'6". The carrier was named after the team's original commanding officer, General Flagg, who was slain in combat against Cobra.
I really wish I still had this thing, but I'd have no where to put it! I had it for about a year, and for the life on me I can't remember what happened to the damn thing! Here are a few photos of the U.S.S. Flagg along with a retro commercial for you to check out!
