It looks like Orlando Bloom will be returning to the role that launched his career, and that he was pretty much born to play. According to Deadline, Bloom will return to Middle Earth as the character Legolas in Peter Jackson's upcoming Hobbit films. A deal is close to being made, and the character will be bigger than just a cameo role. Legolas will play a decent sized part in the next Hobbit movies.
As we reported earlier, Cate Blanchett has already signed on to officially return to the franchise, and we are still waiting on official confirmation that Ian McKellen will return as Gandalf. We are also waiting to see if Andy Serkis will reprise his role as Gollum and Hugo Weaving as Elrond. All of these character have a part in the story of The Hobbit.
The film is scheduled to start shooting early next year so they better get everyone attached to it soon!
