Kevin Costner to Direct and Star in A LITTLE WAR OF OUR OWN
It's been seven years since Kevin Costner has directed and starred in a movie. The last film he made was Open Range, which I don't even remember. Dances with Wolves was by far his best film. His new film project called, A Little War of Our Own, sounds like it has promise.
The story follows a sheriff during World War II who must try to keep a town from exploding into violence. They are beginning to cast, including pic's other lead role -- that of a German U-boat commander.
This seems like a very interesting concept, one that will carry some very heavy themes. Producer Armyan Bernstein says,
This has been a dream project for Kevin and I for years. The themes are timeless -- war, peace and reconciliation. The canvas is epic -- look at the movies Kevin has directed.
Well, to be fair, Costner has made some pretty bad film bombs like Waterworld and The Postman. But like I said, the story definitely sounds like it has the potential to be a great film, the question is, will Costner deliver a great film, or another Mediocre one?
