We've heard the rumors that Warner Bros. was thinking about taking two of their biggest movies of 2010 and giving them the 3D makeover, Clash of the Titans and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It looks like they finally made up their mind because they announced today that the 3D conversions of these two movies is official.
Is it really any surprise to anyone? Everyone knew that it was going to happen. We've talked about it several times on the site already, but if there was any doubt, that doubt can now be put to rest. These two film aren't the only movies being given the 3D treatment. The other 2010 Warner Bros films being released in 3D are Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore (July), and Guardians of Ga’Hoole (September).
Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution for the WB said in the announcment,
We are experienced and have been successful in the conversion of 2D to 3D going back to such hits as The Polar Express, select scenes in Superman Returns and the last two Harry Potter films. The results for Clash of the Titans will be presented onscreen with the highest-quality images available today.
Warner Bros Picture Group president adds,
We’re excited about 3D and look forward to bringing a rich, involving visual experience to audiences around the world.
So there ya have it! More 3D films all around from Warner Bros. There's no doubt the other studios will follow their lead.
So are you excited for this 3D revolution that is upon us? It's not going away anytime soon, so I guess we should get used to it.
