Disney Moving Forward with a Sequel to ENCHANTED

If you enjoyed Disney's live-action princess fairy tale movie Enchanted then you might be happy to know that Disney is going to make a sequel. Enchanted 2 is being produced by Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld who also developed the original film. Screenwriter Jessie Nelson has been hired to write the script, and Anne Fletcher (The Proposal, 27 Dresses) will direct the film.

I enjoyed the first Enchanted film, it was a great blend of live-action, animation, music, and comedy. The original, made for about $85 million, earned an impressive $340.5 million worldwide. Kevin Lima directed the movie from a script by Bill Kelly. It starred Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Timothy Spall, Idina Menzel, Rachel Covey and Susan Sarandon. There's no word weather or not the original cast members will return to reprise their roles in the sequel. I assume that they would, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Disney is looking to release Enchanted 2 sometime in 2011.
