It looks like director Mitch Glazer's, writer of Scrooged and The Recruit, new film Passion Play has wrapped production, and here is our first look at the two stars in the film, Mickey Rourke and Megan Fox.
The film is about a troubled trumpet player (Rourke) and a winged beauty (Fox) who rescue each other from dire circumstances. I assume the dire circumstances involve the gangster played by Bill Murray, who recently replaced Toby Kebbell.
EW talked to Rourke about the film and had some interesting things to say like how Megan Fox is “probably the best young actress I’ve ever worked with”, say what? The guy has worked recently with both Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood in The Wrestler who were amazing, and Megan Fox is the best actress he's worked with? I just don't understand. He had this to say regarding Fox's character,
she has wings, so she was sort of an oddity trapped in a carnival act. She’s been a prisoner her whole life, and she has no understanding of trust. She’s very vulnerable and delicate.
Rourke tells EW that he and the director went to high school together and that they've kept in touch all of these years. The idea for the film was brought to Rourke about 10 years ago. It seems like thing worked out quite nicely for this film coming together, especially with Rourke's career taking off like it is.
The movie sounds like a interesting film, but for me it's Bill Murray playing a gangster that sells me on seeing it.
