PREDATORS Is Going to be Dark and Scary, but will it be PG-13?

I just read through a nice little interview over at io9 with one of the stars of the new Predators film Alice Braga, and there are a few little things that caught my eye.

As you know, Robert Rodriguez is producing the new Predators film, and Nimrod Antal is directing it. This is a movie I've been extremely excited about, I love that they went back to the original Predator designs with this film and I like where they are taking the story. However I was under the impression that the film would be rated 'R', but according to Braga there could be a possibility of it ending up being PG-13. When she was asked about what the rating of the film would be she said,

I think they might try to do PG-13, but I'm not sure. I'm not sure, I hope not actually. You know what, I think they [might] not [be able to do it PG-13] because there are some dark scenes in it, like the other films. So I think it's going to be R. But going back to [a previous] question about editing, we never know what's going to happen. But it looks really dark and really nice. I think, I had fun.

There's no reason to make a big deal about the whole PG-13 thing right now because she says she doesn't know, and she also says it will be a very dark film. I hope they don't go PG-13! But this might end up being something that FOX wants to do. But then why would she say "they might try to do PG-13."? There must be some kind of discussions going on about it.

She went on to talk about the Predators in the film what we can expect.

The new Predators are dark. They are really, really scary. So I think the fans are really going to be happy with it. I hope so. The director Nimród Antal, he's a fan of the Predator films. So it's like a fan directing this, [it was] like a kid on set, and having that energy was very special. I wish I could tell you more.

If it's as dark and scary as she says it is then there's no way the film could end up not being rated 'R'. The whole point of Predator is how freakin violent and sadistic they are! This is a rated 'R' Franchise. I hope to hell they don't PG-13ize it.
