Apparently Ryan Phillippe is also up for the role of CAPTAIN AMERICA

This Captain America casting thing is seriously getting out of control! Everyone seems to be throwing new names onto a list of actors that are up for the role for Marvel's The First Avenger: Captain America. Hitfix says that according to their sources Ryan Phillippe is also up for the role of the Captain. 

All I can do is sit back and roll my eyes. It's not that I think Phillippe wouldn't be good for the role, I actually kind of like the idea of him playing Steve Rogers. But, it's just annoying seeing all these names being thrown into the wind. All I want to know is who is cast in the role!

Phillippe joins a long list of hopefuls which include Mike Vogel (She's Out of My League), Garret Hedlund (Tron Legacy), Chris Evans (Fantastic Four), Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights) whose out, Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl) and Michael Cassidy (Smallville) whose also out. Then there's John Krasinski, who is the lead contender. He's reportedly read for the role 4 times and shot a couple of screen tests. He is also reading with other actresses for the female lead. A lot of people seem to be counting Krasinski out, but not me, because I've heard that he's not out of the running yet. 

Maybe, just maybe, one day we'll find out who Marvel and director Joe Johnston end up casting in this role of a lifetime. The anticipation is building, and if the fanboy/fangirl community doesn't find out soon, the whole way of life as we know it will implode on itself. That's where we're headed.
