Trailer for HBO's BOARDWALK EMPIRE From Director Martin Scorsese

Now this is why we love HBO! The cable network has some of the greatest and most original TV programing ever. I saw this promo trailer before The Pacific came on and it seriously just blew me away. Boardwalk Empire looks like it's going to be an incredible series. The show is being executive produced by Martin Scrosese, and he even directed the first episode. This is definitely a series to get excited about.

The series, written by The Sopranos scribe Terence Winter, uses the book by Nelson Johnson "Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times and Corruption of Atlantic City" as a jumping off point to explore Atlantic City in the roaring '20s. The series will detail the life and exploits of Nucky Thompson who is based on the real life person Enoch "Nucky" Johnson, the "boss" of the Republican political machine that controlled Atlantic City from 1911 to 1941. The amazing cast includes Steve Buscemi, Gretchen Mol, Michael Shannon, Michael Pitt, Michael K. Williams and Dabney Coleman
