Conan O'Brien the Movie Star?!

We all know how things went down when Conan O’Brien was pulled as the rightful host of the The Tonight Show, after poor ratings for The Jay Leno Show caused a hemorrhage for NBC's Local News affiliates. We here at GeekTyrant rallied is support of Conan and his staff, who uprooted their families from New York to Los Angeles, only to see NBC end Conan's Tonight Show run after only seven months. I haven't watched a single minute of what they're calling The Tonight Show, since Leno was reinstated, and I don't ever plan to.

But even though we won't get see Conan behind the desk on TV for awhile, early talks are underway to put Conan and his staff on the big-screen!!! We know Conan has already sidestepped his contract with NBC, who gave him a $33 million severance package to vacate the Tonight Show hosting chair and stay off the air until the fall, by hosting a 30-city live comedy/music revue, which is called The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour. Now television director Rodman Flender is in talks to helm a feature documentary chronicling the tour, and Media Rights Capital has already had conversations about coming aboard as financier.

Conan began the tour as a way to help his staff of about 40 keep busy and employed. Even though NBC also gave up an extra $12 million for the staff, it's good to see them keeping busy, and in top top form for when they likely start up again on another network, as Conan is close to signing a deal with Fox.

A behind the scenes look at how a regular episode of Conan would have been a treat enough, but there is likely to be some unexpected hurdles in transitioning the show into a traveling show.

Would you watch a documentary about Conan O'Brien and the The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour?
