The Search for CAPTAIN AMERICA Is Over! Chris Evans Accepts Marvel's Offer
Hey Gang! It's been one hell of a long road for Marvel to find their Captain America, and it's finally over. Marvel Offered the role of Captain America to Chris Evans last week, and today it's been confirmed by THR that he's accepted their offer and will take the role. Thats right! Evans is the new Steve Rogers A.K.A. Captain America.
Evans obviously took a few days to think it over, and once he decided he would take the offer, negotiations moved quickly over the weekend.
He's not my first choice, but I'm sure he'll give it everything he's got. In his defense, Evans is not a bad actor. Sure, he hasn't chosen some of the best movie projects in his career, but he did do a freakin great job in Danny Boyle's sci-fi film Sunshine. That movie proved to me that he's got what it takes to be a very strong and talented actor, and also shows that he can portray some solid leadership skills.
So far Marvel seems to know what they're doing with their films and the characters in the Marvel Universe. All the other casting for the other films have been perfectly spot on so they obviously see something in Evans that none of the other actors had. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
