Wes Craven Officially Confirmed as SCREAM 4 Director and it has a Release Date

Okay gang, we've gone back and fourth on whether Wes Craven was going to direct Scream 4 or not. The last we heard he still wasn't officially attached, after it was announced that he "officially" was, but now once again it's officially been confirmed by the studio that Craven will indeed helm the next installment of the Scream franchise. Thank goodness that's over with, and everything's been cleared up.

Dimension film has greenlit the film, and it will shoot this spring. The release date has been set for April 15th 2011, which is more than 10 years since the release of Scream 3Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox Arquette will all reprise their roles along side a new young generation of characters. Craven directed the first three films, and it's only appropriate that he continues the franchise.

The fourth film takes place 10 years later from where the last movie left off, in Sidney Prescott's hometown of Woodsboro. I'm a big fan of the Scream franchise, so I'm definitely looking forward to this.
